Women in Coffee
Why does it matter?

Over 25 million rural households depend on coffee production for their livelihood women make up 70% of the labor of coffee production.

Women are less likely to own land, have access to credit, technology or education and have little way to reap benefits that come with land and business ownership.

This is the measurable gender gap in the world of coffee.

This means women around the globe are working hard and getting little in return.

Great news! You can DO something about it: Support women-owned businesses
When women have the same amount of land as men, there is over 10% increase in crop yields: that means MORE coffee to go around

There is even research to support that women grow and produce higher quality coffee: that means coffee in YOUR cup

And best of all, when women do better, their communities thrive.

Cheers,

~Winter

“When women are fully involved, the benefits
Can be seen immediately: families are healthier; they are better fed; their income, savings and reinvestment go up. And what is true of families is true of communities and, eventually, whole countries.”

Kofi Annan
